When did your start working out?

I was in gymnastics since I was about 7 years old. So, physical fitness has always been a part of my life. I started lifting weights here and there in high school. Then started pro wrestling at age 19 and got much more serious about working out.

How did you get started in Professional Wrestling?

In 1999, I was hired by the WWF as a model/actress for one night only. Thanks to the fans and the internet, I ended up in the wrestling business off and on for over a decade.

What adversity have you had to overcome as athlete?

Developing epilepsy, becoming a parent, and breaking my neck didn’t make my career as an athlete any easier.

How has working out impacted your life?

In the beginning it made me look good and feel great. I was strong. I was fast. Today, I am injured. Bad neck, bad back, bad knees, and doctors haven’t ruled out ‘wrestling’ as the catalyst to my epilepsy. My first seizure was at age 21 after my first concussion. So..who knows?

How often did you train when your wrestling?

We went to the gym pretty much 5-6 days a week while wrestling on tv.

What are some keys to working out intensely and avoiding injury?

Don’t wait until it’s too late to find the answer to this question! Recovery!! Take it very seriously. Foam roll then active warm up. Stretching, stretching, and stretching. Cryotherapy and ice baths. Massage, meditation and breathing techniques. I do the Wim Hof Method for breathing and cold submersion. I highly recommend it.

What is your number #1 fitness tip?

Sweat daily. No matter what…work up a sweat. It could be the gym, a sauna, working hard outside in the sun, or even a nice long round of morning sex. 🙂 Just sweat!

Lorne’s Take – Alicia is a great example of how to keep pushing forward and evolve in response to injuries and the obstacle course called “life.”
