Dr. Drew Gordon, DC grew up in Los Angeles, CA. As a teen he attended Beverly Hills High School and started to develop his infatuation with physical education and health. This growing interest developed over the years and made Dr. Drew make up his mind to start his professional education. He proceeded to learn more about health at and received his pre-med at Cal State Northridge majoring in physical education.

Dr. Drew Gordon continued his chiropractic education at Cleveland Chiropractic College and decided to open up his own clinic together with his brother.

As a college student he was a Baseball player at Cal State Northridge College and acquired a lot of firsthand experience in dealing with sports injuries.

Today Dr. Gordon has one clinic on Flower Street in Los Angeles and one clinic in West Hollywood. He is one of the owners of Courtyard Wellness.

He is considered by many to be a leading chiropractor in the Los Angeles area based on his philosophy of providing personal customized care to each of his patients.

What type of sports did you participate in as a kid?

As a kid I participated in three major sports- baseball, football, and basketball.

What are your top 3 fitness tips for the post 45 athlete?

  • I cannot stress how important a proper diet is. What goes in your mouth is the name of the game.
  • Flexibility creates strength. Never neglect a good stretch!
  • Less is more. It is not about the quantity of your workouts, but rather, the quality.

What adversity have you had to overcome as an athlete?

The biggest adversity I have faced was the realization that your brain says you can, but your body says you can’t when it comes to things you used to do. You have to listen to your mind and body and find harmony between them both.

For the advanced post 45 athlete who has plateaued, what advice would you give to get them to take things to the next level?

Make sure that your body is finely tuned to the best of your ability. For example, if your testosterone level is low, you will never grow past your plateau. It is imperative that you are aware of what your body is capable of and how it works.

What made you become a chiropractor and what do you enjoy most about your profession?

I became a chiropractor because I wanted to learn about and conquer all of the injuries that I acquired during my sporting days. Not only does that help me, but helps a plethora of others as well.

What 3 supplements provide the most bang for your buck for the post 45 athletes looking to maximize their performance in the gym?

The best supplements by far are: vitamin D, Omega 3, and Nitric Oxide.


  1. I grew up with Dr. Drew and subsequently have known him over 40 years. He has been an inspiration to me, especially in the Fit after 45 years. I just turned 50 in May and got my body fat down to 10%… Dr. Drew’s Fitness lifestyle example was an influential factor !!
