I asked the folks at Sky Zone to give us the low down on why Trampolining has become so popular and why it’s such great exercise – here’s what they had to say:

What are some of the health benefits of Trampolining?

Trampolines and rebounders increase your muscles’ strength and fitness. The benefits of this is the increase to your pulse rate brought about by jumping.  Trampolining improves your circulation and ensures that oxygen is pumped around your body more efficiently, making you feel healthier and more alert. Plus it’s a great way to keep your weight down.

Can you elaborate on how Trampolining may benefit people with arthritis and other joint related issues?

The rebounder is in essence just a trampoline that has been scaled down to size. A trampoline is also ideal because arthritis usually attacks middle-aged people and individuals who are of an advanced age. Trampolining lets you work out those joints, so that the muscles around them get stronger and you improve your flexibility.

How many calories can you burn in an hour of Trampolining and how would this compare with other cardio workouts?

Burn up to 1,000 calories an hour on our wall-to-wall trampolines! SkyRobics is low-impact, healthy fun that combines calisthenics, core exercises and strength-building aerobics. SkyRobics is one of the most dynamic, effective and active workouts you can get! Don’t worry, any level of athlete will feel rejuvenated after this workout? Versus other workouts that range only from 200-500 calories.

Do you have classes for beginners and older athletes?

Yes.  We have classes for guests that have never been on a trampoline to an all-round expert.  We cater to the needs of the jumper and guide them on how to safely workout while having a great time!

Fit After 45 Conclusion

Sky Zone isn’t the only folks who are big on the health and fitness benefits of Trampolining. A quick look into the current trend shows that a lot of personal trainers are pointing to the immense benefits.

According to JumpSport fitness expert Steve Carver, “Trampolining reduces impact by 40 percent, it allows you to work out harder and recover faster since your body isn’t getting as beat up as it would doing impact exercises on the ground,”.

Michele Borboa from echo’s the benefits of Trampolining, “Jump workouts are not only a quick way to tighten, tone and build core strength, they can also shred calories and boost cardio as effectively as going for a run — without the stress on your joints”

Sports Scientist James Winfield points out how many benefits there are to Trampolining, “the ‘push’ motion forces the lymphatic valves to open and the ‘jump’ motion closes these valves at the top of the jump. This creates a ‘pump’ effect which moves and recycles the lymph and the entire blood supply through the circulatory system many times during the course of the rebounding session, providing a free-flowing system that drains away from the potential poisons – toxins such as dead and cancerous cells, nitrogenous wastes, fat, infections, viruses, heavy metals, and other assorted junk cast off by the cells – from the body.”

Regardless of the reasons you want to head to Sky Zone, whether for fun or for a workout, the only certain thing is, you’ll walk out having gotten both. Make sure to check out Sky Zone at
